I love going down to Pennsylvania. The Mustache Derby organized by Sean and Crystal Graves is not an event to miss. You don’t need to pay to race, you don’t need to be a pro to race, you just need a mustache. I love this country. I tried to express my love for America by dedicating my race heats to freedom, Jesus, and Ford trucks. And not to mention the 7 dollar all-you-can-eat truckstop breakfast… I love this country. Me and Kevin got knocked out early but our boys Ludo and MGR went on to win the race! That’s the second year in a row that we take the podium. Which is cool but it’s just a little cherry on a huge cake.
In the end it’s really Sean Graves and his wife, Crystal, that win because they are awesome. They put on an event each year and let about 20 skaters sleep in their house. Did I mention they have 4 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a snake? The morning of the race is insanity. Every square inch of floor space is taken by sleeping skaters, dogs are barking and licking skaters’ faces, kids are running/crying/stepping on people, and Crystal is in the kitchen making coffee and bagels and yelling at Sean. Skaters come from all of the East Coast and everyone has a blast.
